Whitesugar, Kochi’s own music band has come up with some spectacular performances, and their last show ‘Meeshakaryam’ was a huge success. So the young band is all set to entertain Kochi with their next musical performance, and that is ‘Kannadakkal’ which will happen on the 5th of February, Sunday 2012 at Emmanuvel Silks!

‘Kannadakkal’ is inspired by ‘Kannada’, a prose piece by the famous Malayalam poet and lyricist, Murukkan Kattakkada. The songs show their protest against corruption that prevails in the society. The band has always come up with themes and topics that stand against corruption. They conducted shows against the pathetic condition of the roads, and also for the Mullaperiyar issue which fetched huge success. “We make sure that our songs shows our protest against the government’s cold attitude towards corruption around us”, said Gilbert, drummer of the band Whitesugar.

“This is our first try with ‘Kannadakkal’. We are yet to bring out a big performance very soon, which will most probably be this month itself”, added Gilbert. He said the show will be open to the public and it would held in Kochi itself.

The event tomorrow will begin at 6.00 p.m, so make sure that you don’t miss ‘Whitesugar’ there!

The bands Wrenz United, Kalinga and The Illusion will come together that evening. From Beatles to Eagles and more, you would be treated with some classic songs. The event is happening at JT Pac on the 3rd of February 2012 at 7.00 p.m.

You can witness the band members jamming and they will make sure that all your musical needs are catered to. Maestros Peter Nolasco, Eugene Issacs, Carl Frenais will all be there at the event to perform. They are names that Kochi has heard of and many of us have also had the opportunity to listen to their awesome music.

The Hard Rock Rising Competition is around the corner. Wondering what HRC is all about? Hard Rock Café’s across the country will organize musical fest where bands get to come and play. The best bands would then be sent to London where the finals will be happening. Anyway each band has to upload a track and people have to download the track to vote.

Blackletters have already registered under the Hard Rock Café in Mumbai, and they are all set to rock the stage soon. With umpteen victories in hand, Blackletters are all set to make it big in the international scene. This Kochi-based band comprising of a 4 member squad with lead guitarist Sarang Menon, base guitarist Arjun Radhakrishnan, drummer Akhash Chacko and vocalist Sharath Narayan is gearing up for this next big venture.

“We are all very excited. If we get to make it to the finals, it would be an awesome opportunity”, said Arun Chacko, Manager of Blackletters. The band has recently won some great laurels including winning prizes for ‘IIT Sarang’ and ‘Echoes’, the fest of IIM Kozhikode.
