Shobhana would be accompanied by 23 dancers from her famous dance school ‘Kaladarpana’ at Chennai. You can see her sway and move to the tunes as ‘Krishna’. With Oscar award winner Resul Pookutty having done the technical bit for the dance, ‘Krishna’ will be a class dance show which you would not want to miss.

‘Mei-Dhwani’ is the latest attempt from the ‘Attakalari Kalakendra’ and they hope to bring out their best performances in Kochi. A blend of Bharatanatyam and Kalaripayattu, ‘Mei-dhwani’ will be a performance class apart and one-of-its-kind.

Dam 999 was in the news for a lot of reasons. Yes, you got that right. The Mullaperiyar dam issue definitely gave the movie a boost to its marketing, and we must admit that we are all pretty keen on watching the movie (all thanks to the Mullaperiyar issue). The movie directed by Sohan Roy is receiving mixed responses, and hence you need to watch the movie yourself to determine whether it caters to ‘your’ choice.

The fest will be inaugurated by Sibi Malayil at AJ Hall on the 21^st of November. Three movies along with three short films will be showcased during the fest. ‘Children of Heaven’, ‘Malli’ and ‘TD Dasan Std VI B’ are the movies. ‘Bhoomi Maayumbol’, ‘Cheruthullikal’, and ‘Ammakezhuthiya Kathu’ are the short movies that will be screened. These short films are scripted and directed by the children themselves.

The fest will end on the 23^rd of November, and eminent personalities from the film fraternity will be also part of this fest.

ACT- A Centre for Theatre- and Tharangam Cultural Centre, along with C-hed, the cultural wing of the Corporation is organizing a Short film festival from the 30^th of November 2011 to December 3 2011. With famous artists like Poly Varghese taking part in this festival, this surely will be an event with class. Titled ‘Contemporary Dreams’, this festival will be a platform for fresher’s to try their luck in something which they aspire and love.

Featuring documentaries and short films, they will also have music nights, theatre productions etc. The selected best short film will win a prize of Rs. 15,000. The best documentary shall be awarded prize money of 10,000 rupees.

‘Dinner with Friends’ is a class drama, which has been in the good books of critics and theatre-lovers. The play was written by Donald Magulies, and won the Pulitzer Prize in the year 2000. From being played at the Humana Festival of New American Plays in 1998, to being opened at the Off-Broadway in New York in 1999, umpteen laurels have fetched the play.

Feroze Khan has directed the Indian adaptation of the play, and there is a wonderful star cast starring in it. The roles are played by Tisca Chopra, Perizaad Zorabian, Vinay Jain and Joy Sengupta. The play will be staged on the 6^th of November 2011 at JT Pac, Thripunithura. The play will begin at 7 p.m and 11 p.m. Make sure you do not miss this one!
