The Kochi International Airport Ltd has entered into the field of management education, creating history in airport operations management.
The CIAL Academy was formally inaugurated by Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan at Nedumbassery at 3.30 p.m. on Friday.
In the first batch, the academy has admitted 60 students for its MBA programme, 40 students for the advanced diploma course and 90 students for various certified courses. The courses are recognized by the Indira Gandhi National Open University(IGNOU).
The academy offers MBA courses with specialisation in
- Aviation Business Management
- Aviation Operations Management
- Human Resources
- Finance
- Marketing
The advanced diploma courses will cover Airport Operations Management, Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting and Safety, Air Cargo Management, Security Management, Retail Management and Relationship Management.
The academy will also offer certificate courses in Airport Ramp Handling, Rescue and Fire Fighting and Security and Intelligence.
The courses are designed to prepare the students for securing employment in aviation industry.
The academy also plans to start various technical courses, including MTech, soon. CIAL, the first ‘greenfield’ airport developed in the country under pubic-private participation, has set a model by venturing into the education sector.

Points for the New Admissions aspirants for CIAL Academy MBA:
1. Cochin International Airport has no responsibility legally towards CIAL academy if any is just on humanitarian cause.
2. Cochin International Airport would not employ any students from CIAL Academy as any obligation now or in future too.
3. There are just three permanent Faculty who are all rounder and also hold other responsibility and care for total of 120 students of both years.
4. There are few aviation Books and lots of free subscription magazine for students to refer and make use of to enlarge their knowledge as we are a Aviation Academy.
5. Our final year MBA aviation books are still under construction and references can be taken from google as it would provide much more knowledge.
6. We will give you a lot of free time enough for you to make use for your purpose or develop you communication skills.
7. We donot assure any placement at all, any newspaper advertisement should be considered as our placement assistant.
Dear All,
I am looking forward to join the CIAL Academy as student in Aviation management. Could anyone help me with knowing about the faculty, the facilities provided and the placement aspects. I am not about find anyone who completed the course. I am searching for the alumini’s. If anyone there who has completed this course or is still learning please let me know about the course.
