A digital paintings exhibition is being conducted at David Hall Art Gallery, Fortkochi by artist C. R. Manmadhan.
Here is what the artists says about what one can expect from this exhibition, and what’s in store here. “IMAGINATION is my solo exhibition of digital paintings. This is perhaps the first solo exhibition of digital paintings to be held in Kerala.
There are 21 limited edition works on display. Digital painting is a trend that is getting popular all over the world today.
There are different ways in which artists engage in digital painting. I use smoke photography and turn that into a canvas, working on it. I also use other digital images as the base for some works. Splitting the light received by the camera sensor to make the image gives colour and patterns. I manipulate these colours and patterns to make my own art, using digital tools. No paint and brush in the physical sense is used at all.
My style is abstract at times but mostly abstract figurative. For instance, in the painting, God Particle, figures are found everywhere around the ‘particle’ if you look closely at the work. Some of the other works like Soccer Match, Conspiracy of Colours, Animal Kingdom, Krishna and Motherhood also have figures of humans and animals. Only 19 prints of each work will be taken, and the signature and number of the copy will be on the work.”
The exhibition is on till the 26th of September 2012.
