Homecoming of Sreesanth, Kochi’s ‘own boy’

The ‘lucky charm’ of Indian cricket, our very own Sreesanth reached Kochi, his hometown on the 4th of April after the breathtaking victory of the Indian team in ICC World cup. With Sreesanths’ near and dear ones waiting at the airport, along with media persons, our ‘lucky charm’ was given a hearty welcome.

When the ‘star’ reached airport, authorities found it hard to control the crowd who was sweeping in and showering him with blessings and cheers! Sree reached home by 8.30 p.m, when his close friends and relatives welcomed him. After giving a few interviews, ‘our boy’ ensured to take time off with family to cut the cake which marked the start of celebrations at home! With the delightful dinner to top it all, the homecoming of Sreesanth was rather incredible and perfect! IPL is heading by, and Sree is all set to play for Kochi Tuskers. So let’s
hope ‘the boy’ makes it big for Kochi Tuskers too! Go for it Sreesanth!!!!!!!!!!

Here are a few pics we managed to click when Sree reached home after being a part of the winning World Cup team. Forgive the picture quality. They were taken on cell phone! :)

What is he celebrating, seriously? Gopu mon didnt even play during most of the tournament. And when he did he was just haemorraging runs!

  2. avatar Ashlin says:

What he did honestly..??! watch cricket a bit more closer than any1 else..??! who is getting proud of him..??!
How could some1 get proud of sme1 who is trying to confront even the UMPIRE??!! wtf..?!? that isn’t a bad form.. actually even if he’s the best bowler.. how cud some1 call him a sportsman even..??! wonder wats the point he wants to make..

  3. avatar Rada says:

What he did is nothing but be a part of the Indian Cricket Team that won the worldcup. That is a great achievement what so ever. He getting questioned for his credibility is not a great thing.

Nobody in Kerala has done what he has done for the Indian Cricket Team. The fact is we are here sitting in front of the PC and typing all bogus possible and we do this the best.

We need to be worried about bigger things, congratulations Sreesanth.

  4. avatar PEACE says:

awesome rada! u said it! :)

    ശ്രീ ശാന്ത് – 2 കളി ,13 ഓവര്‍ ,103 റണ്‍സ് ,വിക്കറ്റ് ഇല്ല = ഒരു കോടി രൂപ (ബിസിസി…if he’d bowled d last 2 ovrs lankans wud hav taken d WC home 4 sure……he seriously don deserve dis WC……i wud appreciate al d members of team india except gopumon…….lucky ass…..

  6. avatar V V says:

@ jibin, I got to know by ur comment tat u keep a track of all the sportsmen who play for India… good job done mate… but sad to add along with this, tat u r totally filled with jealousy of some one who reached tat heights… We are proud of Sree coz he is in the indian Squad which went on to become the world champions!! He is the only representation frm state of kerala in the national team… do u think the selectors and the cricket officials of India are just stupid enough to select some one who cannot play… Do u know how many tests Sree played for india and how many times he became a match winner..? just because he didn’t perform for a couple of matches… how could u open ur dirty mouth and speak rubbish against such a talent..?
@ Jean & Ashlin.. He is celebrating the victory of team India and he being the part of the team… he has all the more reason to celebrate that victory.. Hav u not celebrated this same victory just because u sat in front of ur TV and watch India winning… dont u think he has more and valid reasons than u to celebrate India’s victory…?

  7. avatar Deepak says:

Wat the hell is this mann!!!
He doesn’t deserve it…. He is a kochite… bt it doesn’t mean we’ve to ignore the reality… wat criket did he played in the finals…

He myt be thanking Dhoni for those runs he scored and wich made us win the World Cup… Otherwise sree would have been stripped in public by every media…..

  8. avatar Raju Mon says:

My dear frnds… he was thanking Tendulkar for taking the ball away and bowling 2 overs to complete his spell… now he deserves to give the 1 crore to tendulkar for helping him out of the ground without FAINTING!!

  9. avatar Maya says:

Jus because this guy did not play the way he was supposed to in the world cup final, does it make him a bad player forever? well, i dont understand dat.. does anyone wanna comment on the games when he has taken more than 2 wickets? would anyone like to comment on the hardships tht a guy like sreesanth would’ve gone through to make it to the national team? would anyone want to comment on the guy gaining so much of mental strength inspite of ppl frm his own land bitching loads abt him and still playing hard? well, lets see if anyone has gotta say anything abt dat..

  10. avatar Sidharth says:

Who the hell is complaining about Swehwag being a duck? Pathetic mallu mindset!

  11. avatar Sany says:

Hey Guyz there is no question about jealousy or questioning a players capability. It is this guyz attitude. He has all the make of being a great bowler. but has to realize that the great players are made of attitude and not talent. He is trying too hard and achieving nothing when his ability lies in his straight beautiful seam which could do anything from the pitch and bamboozil the batsmen. Unfortunately , he is not using his real talent , but is throwing the ball all across the pitch to increase the pace. Hey, tell me in the mordern days , WHO is afraid of pace. Another point is he thinks that people can be rattled through nasty commenst and aggressive behavior. Comeon man, you are dealing with PROS. Eventually he ends up loosing everything. Ny wayz hoep this guy really lives up to his talent and does something for the team…

  12. avatar PEACE says:

Its eazy to sit in frnt of ur computer screens and type random stuff. But it takes a loooooooot and more of it to kno how it is when things come real. I admire Sreesanth for the player in him, but also sympathize with him for not getting one bit of support from ppl who shud b doin dat. Every player has bad and good days. He has proved he is a great player. Moreover Ive noticed tht the young chap is often provoked by his own teammates. Go for it sree. We are with you. FUCK the pro-sreesanthers. They are being the tail and blabbering wat the media and social media network sites hav already put up. !

  13. avatar Sany says:

Here again, another prro aggressive fool in the form of PEACE :-)

  14. avatar PEACE says:

pro aggressive!!??? lol.. u need to watch out to speak better english. or rather if u are nt very comfortable wit english, you can express ur views in malayalam as well :P ROFLMAO .. pro aggressive????? DUH!

  15. avatar arun kumar says:

Everyday jesters an internet warriors or sms junkies have no right to slam down a player just because of personal dislike if a player doesnt perform on the field every cricket fanatic has right to criticize but to be a playing part of a world cup winning team is mean feat in all rights.let these junkies jesters and warriors prove themselves on the field rather than wasting everybodys time .

  16. avatar jibin says:

@V V……i think u belong 2 gopumons family..ur thots r alike his mother….dood sree rocks.in pure malayalam (kalla-verum kalla).newe really feel pitty 4 u an tat sad ass..V V we al r humans..mistakes can happen.u made a mistake by supporting tat chhotiya in spite of bein a keralite, his parents made a mistake long back(26 yrs ago).dood u take a feedback of mallus al ovr d world ,i bet u ll break d record of comments posted 4 d song silsila hey silsila silsila hey silsila jus 4 d reason u supported tat bitch…wanna bet…???????try it out…cheerzzzzzzz

  17. avatar Gayathri says:

I second arun! It’s easy to watch your TV screens and comment on a player. It takes a lot of strength, calibre and mental vigour to play the game. Moreover, there have been days when he was praised and Malayalis said he is ‘our man’. Thanks to the few who started off with the hate (undoubtedly, resentment and Jealousy reigns these ppl!), and the SMS and mails they spread. This has become so widespread that now we consider him a hitch in everything. The worst part is, his family is also dragged into the picture. If Dhoni’s parents and wife can do poojas, if Harbhajans mom can sit in sikh temples and present offerings for her son to take a wicket, why cant his mom do something for her own son. C’mmon ppl, dont acknowledge for the things he have done, stop crucifying him. He deserves to hear better things!

  18. avatar Sarath says:

@JIBIN: it looks good wen someone comments on ur family da same way!!!!!!! :P :P dat u were the mistake ur mom and dad committed ** years back… sob sob! i wish they regret it!

  19. avatar jibin says:

    @SANY i totally agree wit u…cheers dood…
    @peace y d hell r u arguin wit sany…..he jus made his point.each individual has thier own views.jus post them rather goin 4 a cheap argument..V V if u hav a diff opinion u can post ,y d hell u r cumin 4 an argument.sree myt b talented 4 u…bt 4 me hes jus a nut..aan i don feel proud 4 sree bein a keralite..V V u can add ur emotions bt i 2 hav d ryt 2 exp ma emot…so jus calm an post ur como.k..cheers 2 every1…at d end of d day v al r proud 2 b an indian…kudos 2 team india once again…..jia hind..

  20. avatar Sarath says:

some patriotic ppl cannot even say jai hind properly. They prefer chereing for India by saying ‘Jia Hind’… ROFLMAO! some are jus a disgrace to mallus… PHEW! if these ppl were taken to a national platform, they wud’ve made international players ‘duck out’ by their english !!!! :P :P

  21. avatar jibin says:

    @sarath….did i pionted out ur family??????no ryt…newe i don want 2 comment in public abt ur family….god bless……..

  22. avatar Sarath says:

is Kochivibe a platform for ppl who ‘do not kno english’ to erupt??? no no, iam not ‘pointed at anyone’ :P

  23. avatar Kevin Mathew says:

Guys from the beginning of wc 2011 every one is criticizing sreesanth but still don no for what….k I accept the fact he was not good in wc …but selectors for wc 2011 is not fools to select a bumb to team ..as india is not a small country…so he has something what we all don’t have…. He is only been criticized for his behaving in cricket not for his bowling by experts all over world ….so atleast keep this off on basis of a small thing..sportsman sprit …he was a member of Indian team which won world cup for india… even if you like him or not….

  24. avatar Tiger says:

If Indian hadn’t won, EVERYBODY.. and I mean EVERYBODY would pounce on the person who threw away the most number of runs.

Its fortunate in all senses he belonged to a team that strived through the hardships to win this cup. I just don’t understand how ‘jealousy’ comes into the picture. Do you guys even know what that means with respect to this situation?

There are more skilled wicket takers in the team and again, fortunately, this guy found is place in the final day squad.

All I gotta’ say is Team India was simply brilliant.

  25. avatar PEACE says:

so what is mister tiger trying to put forth? pro-sreesanth or for sreesanth are u?

  26. avatar Sany says:

Kool.. Apologies PEACE for the time I took to comment on your views.. Dude, I just pity you since you are here to judge other ppls command on english language when all the others are trying to make their points on some other issue. Any ways , I stand by what I said and i am not going to shy away. Shreeshanth has got talent , but he is not going to make it at the top unless he become professional and respect others talents. remeber Sachin is a complete sportsman and a respected cricketer not just because he has got talent. It is due to the fact that he is very tolerant and behaves like a gentleman on the filed. He always talks with his bat.

  27. avatar PEACE says:

    POOR PEACE!!!!! :P

sany smarty.. read the comments.. did i mock at ur english.. DUDE!!!!!!!! :O (sob sob)

People…. understand one thing…. Change is the only constant thing in this world… how many of u have a stable journey throughout ur life.. be it @ ur work place or be it @ ur home / family… there are certainly going to be ups and downs… and believe me no one and wen i say tat is including all the sad assess who made their dirty and cheep comments towards one of our fellow being… No one is perfect. Trust me… wen u go through that rough patches, hav u not look out for some one whom u can rely upon.. some one who can direct u to the right channel… is there any one out there is so perfect in all manners or disciplines of life… if yes.. let me hav a word with ur mom / dad/ or ur spouse or ur boss…. Here is a national player who has short of some thing or who has some extra aggression…. so what… instead of vomiting bad words and cursing him for being born in the country… y not u ass holes support him or wish him good luck wen he perform for the country…. if u cannot do either of this… shut the bloody mouth and tats the best all of u can do well…. None of us are born perfectionists and we all learn things as and wen we grow and we continue to learn till we take our last breath… tats the FACT!!!!

Sreesanth.. we support u and pray for u!. Let ur passion for the game and love for the nation continue to grow and each time u takes a wicket… dance even more and show ur happiness even more and tats wat we like it. U ROCK!!!!!
