Amalda Liz takes some time off to talk to Kochivibe! Her girl-next-door-charm has made us all huge fans here; see yourself turn into one as well after reading excerpts from the interview
You had a short stint as a VJ for a popular Malayalam Television Channel. Do you enjoy anchoring?
Yes I did, I really enjoyed being a VJ. I think it’s pretty tough to handle a live show but by God’s grace I did a number of Live shows, and now I got an offer to do a reality show. Another thing I enjoy about anchoring s that we have the freedom to express what’s on our minds, adn we can learn a lot by interacting with the audiences.
When did you realize that it is modeling that you want to do?
I had participated for Miss Kerala- 2009. But at the time I wasn’t passionate about modeling. I was always held up with my studies and everything. After I was done with my education, I concentrated more on pursuing this as a career. With God’s grace, I had some luck thrown my way. I got more passionate about as the days passed by.
Did you face any opposition to this career decision from your family/relatives?
Honestly, yes I did. But they understood later that this is my passion, and slowly they began to support me. Now I can say that my family is my backbone and I can truly say that they are the only reason why I am here.
Would you agree if someone told you that Kochi is not ready for the international fashion scene?
I don’t think so! People in Kerala do know what Fashion is all about. Especially in Kochi! It’s growing day by day. Kochi International Fahsion Week- Season 1 is the most apt example for this. The response was huge! Then of course, I’d still say it will take some more time. It takes time for something new like this to get established in a society like ours.
How do you prepare yourself for a show/shoot?
I prepare myself both mentally and physically. I love yoga, I dance everyday, and if at all something big comes up I hit the gym.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I want to be a renowned model in the country, I want to try anchoring different kinds of shows, and I’d love to excel in the field of acting. Not in the sense that I want to do hundreds of movies. I’ll be quite happy with giving an excellent performance in just one! But above all I hope to remain true to myself and be a good human being.
Any message to Kochivibe readers?
Life is short, so enjoy every moment. Stay true to who you are and your value system, that is the only earning we will have with us. God Bless
