A small city like Kochi on the the list of the top 10 affluent cities of India..!! Well , thats like news.. !!
According to AC Nielsen survey on the Urban Middle and Rich (Umar) , Kochi is the 7th most affluent city of India . The survey estimates a total of 2.5 million affluent households in India.
Of this 2.2 million belong to the Upper Middle segment, 0.2 million households to the Upper Upper Middle and The Rich consist about 0.1 million households.

we sure are rich..!
We are preceeded by New Delhi , Bengaluru , Greater Mumbai , Chennai , Hyderabad and Kolkata.
Now , if one might wonder why we are the 7th most affluent city . The answer is quite simple.! , since the categorisation was really weird ,
” Households that own a car and a computer, but without an LCD television and a holiday abroad, were considered as upper class.
Likewise, the Upper Upper Middle segment consisted the owners of a car, a computer, and an LCD, but not a holiday abroad. ”
But hey ! Even with the categorisation being weird , cities like Pune , Jaipur and Ahmedabad are behind us..!
So YES..!! We should definitely be proud of what Kochi has achieved.. Thanks to all the LCD owners.. and please try going abroad as soon as possible , lol ..
so that next time , We can bargain and maybe reserve our place somewhere in the first two..! :D
Cheers to all the Richie Richs..! ;)
