BSNL started rolling out the much awaited 3G technology in the state on January 4th. Today BSNL is launching 3G in Trivandrum. The funny part is, as of now, Kochi is the only district that has been held back from 3G.The technology that lets us use various services such as video call, high speed broadband internet connectivity, mobile television etc is yet to be launched. We just hope BSNL is gearing up for what is probably the biggest market in Kerala and pull up their socks quick and give us access to 3G!

I thought 3G is already available in Kochi. Btw. even B’lore got its 3G very late.
BSNL is implementing 3G on the basis of the no. of towers in the city. More towers means more installation of 3G equipment.
Hi,
I think the reason behind no 3g in Kochi is WIMAX availability. Kochi is the first launching place of BSNL WiMax service in South India.
