The Kochivibe set on for its Interview with Kerala’s own unique rock band Avial on a hot Wednesday afternoon. The journey was filled with a lot of discussions on what to ask, sleeping, goofing around and more of sleep! The train ride was comfortably over by 8.30pm, our arrival at our State’s Capital. Being professionals that we are we set onto where Avial’s studio is setup, but being humans we went to have our dinner and checked into a hotel nearby and made ourselves presentable to Legends for Malayalees.
Avial a band that hurled into the rock band scene in Kerala and took the state and soon the nation by a whirlwind in 2007 sure looked like tough customers to Interview, but as we met them and got ourselves introduced with the members of the band we sort of settled into our ‘vibes’. The practice session soon shook of whatever tension that prevailed upon us, the music, the interaction between the band members, the jovial mood and the candid moments gave us a really entertaining and first class rock experience with Avial. The jamming-sessions saw Avial letting themselves loose with playing their usual numbers and also improvising and playing just for the pure sake of enjoying music. And let me tell you this, the funny part was that it had the most response from everyone, everyone including the band and the spectators! It show’s how human we all are and we can still have pure fun in this world.
The interview was more informal and personal with the band acting totally casual with us, which really put us at ease. This was definitely one of the most enjoyable interviews the team was able to experience.
