We have had so many discussions where people who favour and the ones who do not favour have pooled in their judgments and attitude about the parties in Kochi. Parties are a drift, and are quite new to Kochi as it is catching up at a fairly dawdling velocity. To top it all, the misleading movies which ‘overrate’ parties as the hub for drugs, sex, and ecstasy are flooding at a large rate, hence giving the public (the ones who have not yet been to a real party) the impression that parties are the ultimate haven for LSD (love, sex and dhoka). Well then people, we have some real news. The so called ‘parties’ really do not serve you such stuff. But of course, there are exemptions. You have to make sure that you stay away from them, because you need to take care of yourself at the end of the day! The trend in movies where they show women getting sloshed and random men in the club/pub taking them away are all so cliché and stereotyped!! The South Indian movies are well-liked for their despise towards parties. This gives everyone (especially the parents) a shock at the thought of their kid going out with friends for a party!!! The best way you can experience some real genuine party is at Ava Lounge in Dream or Qube at Ramada on a Saturday night. Experience it yourself, to know what it is!!

night life rockzzz..and so does Kochi….
more on this stuff plz..Gayathriiiiiiiiiii
Hope that the full form of LSD as LOVE SEX DHOKA is only a joke, apparently LSD stands for Lysergic acid diethylamide.
Well mr.jesudas, I think you are not updated on the contemporary movies and shows that gives LSD as love, sex, dhoka. Apparently, the real meaning must be Lysergic acid diethylamide, but is without doubt, used in the former way in the topical scenario. But thanks for the enlightenment, dis is something new
Gud stuff Gayathri!! its time to show people what really needs to be portrayed is the truth than some hallucination of what is shown in movies and TV!
Good work kid…am proud of u..love u sis
Big fan of Dibakar Banerjee and loved LSD for its boldness.
The meaning of LSD (as psychedelic drug) is been the same since mid 20th Century and will always remains the same.
like like like like!!!!!! Keep it up girl…..gud stuff!
)))
I totally agree with you jesudas.. but time changes, interpretations and analysis on things changes over the years.. now the 21st century interprets LSD as love, sex and dhoka. But that does not mean that the term Lysergic acid diethylamide has been forgotten or has been obliterated from literature!!!!!
the ultimate motive of parties is nothing but LSD…..whether u like it or not….its just crap,,everybody deep in their heart knows it,,i`ve been to both ava and qube and know wat the guys have in their mind….so please dont bluff,,such crap….hope people of kochi have some morale…
That is sucha sad remark elsa, and its unfortunate that you had to go through something there (cos i understand from what uve written that you have had a terrible experience ova there) Its regrettable that you could not see the good side of parties, and rather had to go through the bitter ones. You need to open your eyes and see the wider world… Hope you do that sometime.. Cheers!
Well, that was quite an insight ! IMO – May be you could have been a bit discrete on the matter and highlighted the brighter side of nightlife as a metro in the making and not related to drugs/movies. Drugs always been and still the reason parties happen at least in the form alcohol, if people cant embrace the true existence of these substances and their consequences , by all means they should stay away from parties.
hey mister filterfunk..you can always pass on an article that deals with metro in the making and not something related to drugs/movies.. we would appreciate that… and if you are tryin to tell that drugs and alcohol are the ONLY reason for parties, i bet, u need to change ur attitude..
@OP – Its not the “ONLY” reason, its just inevitable. These are the die hard truth behind. Young party goers should be educated or made aware of the potential dangers. And btw before throwing a bet, just go to any party and try a survey to get intoxicated vs sober party goers. You might be disappointed. Point is things are the way it is, neither an article from you or me is not going to change the fact – “PARTY RESPONSIBLY”.That was just my free 2 cents.

DJ/Clubber for years
Its sad dat u r one amongst those who see more of the ‘bad side’ of parties.. and moreover trying hard to impose your point does not help mister FUNK… cos we have some real smart readers out here who does ‘good’ partying and not just depend on drugs and alcohol (as you say)!! and btw, alcohol and smoke is something which you would wanna do if u want to.. but that does not mean parties here are exclusively for dat alone..U gotta see REAL LIFE FUNK..!now dats for u, for a cent!
Courtesy: People who party with friends, muzic and DJ, not drugs, smoke and alcohol
Its a good article..its said educated n modern youngsters exist who speak without having full knowledge… Nightlife is abt positive fun..i;m a corporate employee,,and i take weekends to chill out n relax..and i get energy to start a new week..I dn;t drink or smoke..i meet friends, dance, have non-alocholic drinks…it is a pretty safe nightclubs in kochi for all sexes….
nice work Gayathri…its high time we throw some truth about these so called “bad habits” according to some people..its only through articles and publications like these we can spread a healthy certitude about night parties…!!
true sudheer and brightside..!! we need to have a better insight to parties rather than the conservative thinking that instigates the thought that parties is all about drugs, sex, and alcohol solely.
WoW..seems like the heat is on, well I don’t know what is so instigating about this. It may be your prejudice mind , I just said things go hand in hand and its up to the party goers to stay safe and choose their high – music can do it for some and alcohol or whatever crap for others. You can’t deny their association by ranting out here. As a matter of fact Mrs Gayathri you have to see some real parties too o_O and I think its immature of an author (or whatever you are) to be so provocative.
FYI : My free 2 cents is a phrase and not something I gave it to you.
Peace !
Filterfunk seems 2 a guy who tried trippin on some real sex n booze at a club.but all in vein
people, so here is a guy who thinks that parties is all about drugs and alcohol.. LOL. i wish someday u see the real one..its absolutely dimwitted and juvenile to think the way u r thinking.. sad, but some people just dont grow up.. we are here to give our readers some bona fide stuff.. and not go by the asinine thoughts of random people who are still stuck in the cocoon shell.. PEACE \m/
@ OP – you just proved how intelligent you are at interpreting things, when did I mention parties are all about drugs and alcohol? I said you can’t deny their existence .. U and your so called readers can shoot crap all day ..good luck ! And btw u just proved who is still a stuck up..nightlife and messed up movies…rofl !
Also a second note hope you not taking writing serious enough ..lol ..any way keep trying spitting more gibberish …
@ bl@ck c@t : all in whose vein ?? Probably in yours…well, here is a piece of advice – get to school first before even thinking about getting to party .. Oh wait I fgot u might be still in one ..hehe !! And u might be making a buck or two for supporting this BS ..hope your piggy back be full enough for you and buddies to throw a coffee party this summer !! Have fun son..
@filterfunk Excellant points! Sorry you got mauled in here! But thats us mallus right?
And Gayathris points were not too far from yours. “You have to make sure that you stay away from them, because you need to take care of yourself at the end of the day!”
@ Sid – Tru that, I just added to her lines !
Gosh!Let me ask some of the guys who talk AGAINST PARTYING.I’m damn sure that the ones who are against parties are Philistines who are so narrow minded, what’s the problem in PARTYING if youngsters enjoy it?I’m sure that 90% of youngsters love to party,In this 90% most of the guys are not coming to parties here due to the high price for getting in(Its free for couples but its not easy for a guy to get girl for one day,No one will say I’m wrong) and I’m sure about that. Some guys don’t PARTY due to oppression from their parents,Anyway I don’t say things like this neither I ask parents before I go to Bathroom,I’m not a LKG guy anymore.Well lets come on to the topic,What I was saying is the ones who says party suck have to get a life. Some one mentioned about Morals,Our guys have a problem when it comes to the WORD “MORAL” .Helping a blind to cross the road is a goodthing.Backstabbing is not a good thing and talking about having sex,I do know that’s what someone mentioned earlier,How can it be a bad thing if both the guys love it?It can’t be anyway but the Philistines can say YES 1000 times but NO one cares…Just leave about SEX and having fun,we are humans and its normal and those who think its not good are not Normal, seriously.BTW if anyone wanna say about Morals more,Pray to God for your friend,Help everyone who needs help,Make one child smile, giving him/her a lollypop,Do something for your city,Be a Humanitarian. That’s what I call morals and sex is fun and don’t relate that with morals and YEAH its not only the men who want SEX,women want it more,my GF asked for it
why cant keralites be that open and cover all the things which are nornal and bother about others buisness
i would like to attend a couple of parties myself.but how does one do so?should we book in advance or sumthing?please give details on partying stuff
@funk..i got what Gayatri was saying because it was just her point of view and not a serious article because if it were it would be backed by facts which it unfortunately is not. I love responsible partying…but I am entirely aware of whats lurking around as well. It was rather immature of her to be so blindsided…in contrast i think the way you went about your opinions until you started getting attacked by the child was quite cool!
To start with, LSD is Lucy in the sky with diamonds! As to the night life in Kochi, I get the feeling that comments are by people who’ve partied nowhere but in Kochi. Now, as someone who had the (mis)fortune of having partied in all the party capitals of the world, I must say it is too early to say which way our kochi is going. As to love sex and dhoka, happens all the tome everywhere, night clubs simply amplify the reality.

by virtue of being a public forum im sure everyone here is entitled to their opinion. I for one have partied in most o the metros (save calcutta) and i personally enjoy partying.. not as much as i used to in college but yes even now id deff enjoy a night out at good club wid a close group o friends. Having said dat i must say the “party scene” in kochi is still a loong way off from being as mature as bangalores or bombays or chennais.. primarily coz in blore or in chennai u find grups of youth of a mixed population coming to clubs to just let their hair down n have fun.. no ulterior motives o nethin.. but in kochi.. i dunno.. everytime ive gone clubning n i look around i get this sense o sleaze in the atmosphere.. primarily coz parties here r mostly “saussage fests” with a male to female ratio of 5:1… and u c married older men ( much older like in the mid 40s).. trying to oogle at and hit on girls who are 1/2 their age..n they c these parties as avenues to flaunt their wealth and pick up an innocent jailbait… and as far as “LSD” at clubs (both the drug and the expression) go.. im fairly certain it happens at most clubs around the world but is conducted at a more discrete manner.. drugs are rampant and available in most college campuses everywhere… Harvard is notorious for marijuana.. doesnt mean people have stopped going to college… i agree the current crop of mallu movies (even the critically aclaimed 22fk) shows how the BIG BAD city ruins good old country belles… but heres wat i say… if the present youth.. do not ruin the club scene and c it for wat it is.. a fun passtime.. then we dont have to worry abt the older generation of critics coz in 20 years.. theyll all be either dead or irrelevant!..then its just a matter of how we interpret it and pass it on to the next generation.
it is obvious that intoxication is still a taboo in kerala, its not that no one does it(just look at the bevco earnings on a new year),it’s just that we are taught to be closet smoker/drinkers.While i can say that a small percentage of us keralites have developed a free thinking persona ,a large fraction of the people still live with a closed mind. it takes time for a major paradigm shift,so why the fuss ??? let it take its time, and meanwhile people who want to party are always welcome(provided you have the cash or a partner). But i have one request to all the inbred mallu guys who goes partying ,sits in a corner and comments on any girl walking past, hello!!!!! we guys need to be respected not despised ,so next time u see someone you like try talking!!!
Nice.. work..Its really necessary to let people know about party and real party culture..Its all about enjoying along with taking care of the co-partner and other friends who have come..
Well, where could i find some heavy metal parties in the city……??
I’ve never been a fan of the parties in Kochi. Even though the music is good, the crowd has always been a letdown. But luckily the party scene is growing by leaps and bounds.
When it comes to Rock music, albeit having so many hard core fans, no rock parties are held in the city at all. I prefer having a house party instead with my mates.
