The Queen Mary 2, billed as the grandest and most magnificent ocean liner ever built, came calling at the Cochin port today ( January 31st 2010 ) on its third visit in the past three years.
This vessel had come on its maiden voyage two years back and returned last year also. The liner arrived from Dubai today morning and left for Phuket in Thailand in the evening.
The vessel was berthed at Ernakulam Wharf and the tourists, including from US, Britain and Germany, disembarked for sightseeing in and around Kochi.
The liner has 13 decks and boasts of the most modern luxuries and amenities. These include 10 luxury hotels, a planetarium and an ayurveda massage parlour.
Another cruise vessel, Le Ponant with about 50 passengers and 40 crew also called at the port and would leave for Male Monday.

I saw it. Its really amazing and big tooooooo!
Its nice to see cruise ships are coming but to attract more ships the below par and unclean facilities at the port sould be improved. Remember these liner normally carry international tourists who can spend really good money at the places they visit and we need to encash this by offering world class cruise ship terminal and good interantional standard port facilities and no corrupt port offcials pls.
