The Sant Nirankari Mission in Kochi celebrated the New Year by organising a ‘Satsang’, wherein Sant Rajuji emphasised in a discourse that universal brotherhood is possible through the fatherhood of the Almighty Lord. Each person must attain divine knowledge to fulfil the aim of human birth, said Dharmendra Asthana and Khirod Kumar, the mission’s followers in the city.
The mission plans to carry out cleaning in different parts of the city and also organise blood donation camps. The 1,000 followers in the city meet every week at a hall in Thevara. The organisation believes that the formless God is the creator, sustainer and destroyer of the universe. “Thus, it is only through realising God that fulfilment is achieved in human life. God, though formless, can be realised.”

The mission, which has presence in many parts of the world, began as a spiritual movement in Peshawar in 1929. It believes that rituals are a means of maintaining a healthy balance in worldly life. But they are not a means to salvation and have to be adopted after understanding their significance.
Among the organisation’s foremost principles is that one should consider one’s worldly assets – physical, mental and material — as ultimately belonging to God, since the person is only a trustee of these possessions and should not be proud of them. For details on the mission, call 90200 95940.
