Starting off as resident DJ at Poison Hyderabad, Kini rose through the ranks to open for massive headline acts such as dOP, Dale Anderson & Anil Chawla (Global Underground), Djuma Soundsystem, James Har- court (Twisted Frequency) and Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West). Her popularity continues to grow- performing at festivals such as GO: Madras as well as opening the party at India’s biggest electronic music event – Sunburn in Goa.

It’s official folks, the Fashion fever has hit Kochi!

The second edition of Kingfisher Ultra Kochi International Fashion Week (KIFW) is all set to begin this April, and fashion designers and models have started their preps for this grand event. The event will witness gorgeous models from Kerala and all over India, walking the ramp set at the pool side of Casino Hotel.

Many models who are taking part in KIFW are getting ready to rejuvenate their senses with some wonderful Ayurvedic treatments. Realizing the potent effects of Ayurveda on a person’s body and mind, the models are eager to try it out. Punarnava, one of the event partners for KIFW, will be organizing this  tryst with Ayurveda.

The event will have much in store for fashion loving Kochiites. The host designer for the show, Kochi’s own Hari Anand, is ready with some beautiful designs. He will be weaving some magical tales of modernity on our very own Kasavu Sari. This is definitely Kochi putting her best fashion foot forward!

Casino shall be one of the tour venues for Jordan Johnson, a young and soulful singer/songwriter from New Zealand and South Africa and the show will be on the 7^th of January, 2012.

Born and raised in India, he calls himself an Indian dipped in bleach.  With strong cultural influences and experiences from his time spent living in India, Jordan’s growing repertoire clearly portrays these influences, exposing his soul through his music. Other than having a large repertoire of original songs he takes classics and latest numbers and adds his own creative flair to make them into very original covers.

His first official music video has been produced by the Tehelka Music Project. Jordan is currently gaining experience with live performances in different places around India. This entire year he has been doing various gigs to build up to his 5 city album release tour which begins from Goa and ends with a finale launch at the blue frog on January the 11th.

He is actively looking for more opportunities to further his career through performance and song writing which is where his musical passion lies.

Recently Jordan has been recording in a studio and is currently working on his debut album ‘Distance and a kiss ‘. Jordan has been playing music since a very early age and is strongly influenced by his mother and father who are also both very musical. His influences include popular Indie artists such as Fink, James Vincent McMorrow, and Bon Iver. He is also greatly influenced by John Mayer and Jack Johnson.

Some of Jordan’s goals include gaining more experience in the live performance aspect of his music, playing more gigs to a variety of audiences, expanding his repertoire, having some professional studio time for recording and playing at music festivals such as The Glastonbury music festival. With the support Jordan has from his family and friends and different record producers from the U.K and America, who all see in him the potential to make a significant mark on the music industry, Jordan will achieve these goals and go on to be a highly sought after and ground breaking singer and song writer.

Approximately the first week of January there are plans to launch Jordan Johnson’s album ‘ Distance and a Kiss ‘ through a 4 city tour , Starting from Goa- cochin-Pune and round it off with a final launch at the Blue Frog which has been confirmed for the 11th of January.
