It’s been a crazy ride so far for New York’s FIGO.
Since 2006, the group, which doubles their live electronic punk rock carnage with a strictly bangers DJ and production crew, has rocked crowds across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, touring relentlessly, sharing the stage with The Faint, Steve Aoki, Cut Copy, MSTRKRFT, The Presets, Avicii, A Place To Bury Strangers, She Wants Revenge, Soulwax, …Trail Of Dead, and many others. Most notable tours include supporting Ladytron on their 30-date 2009 North American Tour, supporting A Place To Bury Strangers on their 2010 UK Tour, again supporting Ladytron on their 2011 European Tour, and landing a coveted spot on the 2011 inaugural Identity Festival Tour, playing alongside major EDM and rock artists including Kaskade, Skrillex, Chuckie, LA Riots, Holy Ghost, and Booka Shade, at twenty of the largest amphitheaters in the United States.
They’ve also crushed major music festivals including Detour Festival, Amsterjam Festival, I Love This City Festival, Camp Bisco, and Winter Music Conference. Their 2012 South By Southwest run included direct support for R3HAB at Insomniac annual SXSW bash, as well as previous SXSW showcases with The Sounds, Dirty Vegas, and Junkie XL at top parties including The Syndicate Conflict of Interest, The Purevolume House, and Lose Control. Some of their music have already been released both independently and by established labels such as Mute Records and Calcium Records, and compared to anyone from The Misfits and Iggy & The Stooges, to Justice, Soulwax, Nitzer Ebb, and Kasabian.
Singles from FIGO’s debut EP, “Put It All On Black,” are getting critically – acclaimed reviews and nods from media including Filter Magazine, The Deli Magazine, LIVE4EVER, DOOM Magazine, and others. The group has previously released remixes of TV on the Radio, Justice, A Place To Bury Strangers, Ladytron, and The Boxer Rebellion, to equal praise. Figo will be performing in Kochi on the 14th of December 2012 at Ava Lounge, Hotel Dream. It begins at 8 p.m.
