Kochiites, are you ready for some ‘rock’ this week!?? Well, we are talking about the much sought after rock music which has been luring young minds. Music, no matter what region or language it comes from, has a unique ability to entice you. Here are some young musicians doing their bit for the ‘Mullaperiyar issue’. The young and old alike, have been worried about the grave consequences and the threat posed by Mullaperiyar dam. Our government needs to take action ASAP, and these young musicians are conveying the message in the best way, i.e. through music!
‘Night of the damned’ will be held at the Uncle John ‘I’ Drive, opposite Gold Souke on the 1st of December. The event will begin at 5.30 p.m, and will go on till 8.00 p.m. Kochi’s own music bands, including the famous ‘Evergreen’, will show their support towards this cause by playing some awesome music. Musicians from other bands will also be playing on Thursday evening. You can listen to some mind-blowing performances from Baiju Dharmarajan, Stelsie Jose, Vivek Thomas, Sumesh Parameshwaran, Vivian Varghese, Anish and Anoop Nair.
Need more? Kochi’s own VJ, RJ, and Singer Sreenatha Bheera Bhasi will also show his support for the cause through music. Be there to witness his performance. Deepu Sasidharan and Santosh Chandran are other artists who will be performing. The band ‘Redemption’ will be playing too.
So now you know why we say that this is going to be one ‘awesome’ evening. Do you want to miss this one? Be there to witness some live great performances, and also show your support for the ‘Mullaperiyar issue’. See you there Kochi!

All For Rock Get Together is a get together of some of Kochi’s finest rock bands and talented musicians. But this is not just another regular night of rock. Saturday Kochi will rock to raise funds for Rajendran ‘Maash’. Maash has tutored a few too many talented musicians in the city. He was recently in the news for being the Indian who secured the highest marks for the 8th Grade examination held by Trinity College of Music, London. Currently, everyone’s favorite Maash is undergoing treatments for a serious medical condition which can be cured at the expense of Rs. 20 Lakhs. Over and above the hospital providing a huge discount the music brotherhood has stepped in to help raise funds.

A total of four band have signed up to perform for this noble cause. Evergreen, Whitesugar, The Brown Circle & Ralph with Friends and other guest artists are expected to perform.

Rock lovers have a feast awaiting them, Parikrama is going to perform live at Kochi on the 10th of January 2010. Ambedkar Stadium is the venue for the rock concert. Kochi’s own band, the 11 year old veteran Evergreen will be performing alongside Parikrama. Its a true blue rock experience for any rock music lover.
Parikrama is a Rock band from Delhi, formed on the 17th of June, 1991 in Delhi.The word Parikrama means ‘orbital revolutions’ in Sanskrit. One of the notable milestones in their career was when Parikrama, with FtN and Lauren Harris, opened for Iron Maiden at Bangalore, in March 2007. After watching Parikrama’s performance, Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris said that he was completely blown away by the quality of Parikrama. They have performed four shows with Iron Maiden in the UK.
The ticket rates for the rock show ranges between Rs 100 and 500.
