Kochi will witness an Agricultural expo this week. This time it is the fourth edition, and The India International Food and Agri Expo along with the Indian Organic Fair 2011 and The Foundation for Organic Agriculture and The Rural Development and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) is jointly organizing this event. The event was inaugurated by NABARD Trivandrum Chief General Manager K.C. Shashidhar on the 26^th of November.

The expo is a platform for exporters and people who work in the agricultural field to come together and showcase the products that they host. From spices to coffee and tea, cocoa, cashew and more, there will be a wide array of fresh products that consumers can choose from. Farmers, retailers, agri- entrepreneurs, agro-machinery manufacturers, etc. will be the people who would be taking part in the expo.

The expo will also be a platform for buyer-seller meet on fruits, spices and more.  This will be a platform to buy organic products as well.

The expo will be on till the 28^th of November 2011, and will be open to the public from 10 a.m to 8 p.m. The event is happening at Gokulam Convention Centre at Kaloor.

A competition to select the best terrace garden will be organised as a part of the India International Agri Expo 2009 , to be held next month in the city. The contest is intended to encourage the cultivation of vegetables and plants on the terrace, according to the organizers.

Yes , u read that right . It sure is a contest to check ur skills at cultivation., terrace cultivation. If you have a beautiful terrace garden with tomatoes and beans and a paddy field ( who knows..!  ) , make sure you participate . You might win a prize , you never know.!

Prizes will be awarded to winners at the international expo to be held from November 19 to 21. The last date for participating is November 7th.
