More than 400 students taking part in a play, with the support of 100 student’s back-stage! How does that look like? One really splendid show, isn’t it? And that is just what one can witness at the Musical Adaptation of Lion King, a show that will be hosted by JT Pac along with Choice School.
The show will be directed by Silly Point Productions from Mumbai. Managed and organized by these 500 students themselves, they will have superstar Mohanlal mentoring and grooming them for their on-stage performance. A huge array of colorful props and lovely costumes will add charm to the evening. There will also be a live repertoire by the students. Famous musician Joe Peter will be training the group of singers who are participating in the play.

This weekend indulge in some hearty laughs by watching ‘Bade Lacche Lagte Ho’. This Gujarati play will be staged at JT Pac, Thripunithura. The story revolves around a Gujarati family where all the members are cunning. Hence, the drama and fun involved in the play is sure to make you have a good laugh! The members of the family have a tough time dealing with each other, and this play is filled with a handful of good and funny dialogues too.
The play is written by Nimesh Shah and directed by Jaideep Shah. This two hour play will be staged on the 13th of January at JT Pac. It begins at 7.00 p.m.

JT Pac will be staging the play ‘Where did I leave my Purdah’. This English play is from Primetime Theatre Company. A comedy drama that also has a tinge of romance, grief and sorrow added to it, the play is set during the 1950’s and 80’s.
The play revolves around the life of an actress, her relationships, professional life and more. You can witness India, just after partition, brought beautifully on stage. The world of cinema is shown perfectly. The story eventually comes to the present, back to the contemporary world of cinema as well.
‘Where did I leave my Purdah’ is directed by Lillette Dubey and written by Mahesh Dattani. The cast includes Lilette Dubey, Neha Dubey, Soni Razdan, Sid Makkar and Priyanka Karunakaran in the lead roles.
The play will be staged on the 5th of January 2013 at 7.30 p.m at JT Pac Thripunithura.

JT Pac is ready with their next big event for the month! ‘Rahlaap: Music beyond genres’ is an event you wouldn’t want to miss. A band formed by artists Rahul Nambiar and Aalap Raju, here is a band that embraces music beyond genres. Both Hindi and Malayalam songs are being performed by the duo.
Rahul Nambiar debuted by singing a Tamil song in ‘Dishyum’. His Malayalam numbers have also become super hits that include songs from Cocktail and Snehaveedu. Aalap Raju is a singer who has made his mark with songs in Tamil movies that includes ‘Ko’. You will also have Navneeth Sundar on Keyboard, Joshua Mark Raj on Guitar, Vikram on Percussions, Prakash Hariharan on Mandolin, and Jeorai George on Drums.
The event is happening at JT Pac, Thripunithura on the 22nd of December. The show begins at 7.30 p.m!

The ‘Sufi Gospel Project’ is a show which Kochi would love to check out. Vocalist Sonam Kalra, along with her team will be performing in Kochi this month. Vocalist Sonam has performed at many national events and has been lauded for her beautiful performances. Embracing the typical Sufi melodies, this band has some splendid tunes to offer music-lovers.
Blending Indian instruments that include the flute, tabla, sarangi along with western tunes from the guitar and keyboard, the ‘Sufi Gospel Project’ has marked their presence in Indian music through uniqueness and class. You will have Sonam Kalra on the vocals, Ahsan Ali Khan on Sarangi, Brennon Denfer on Bass, and Rajesh Prasanna for flute.
The first performance of ‘Sufi Gospel Project’ was in the year 2011, and ever since then they have made a mark for themselves. The event is happening on the 30th of November at JT Pac. The show begins at 7. 30 p.m.

What is the newest event happening at Kochi’s art hub? ‘Hard Places’ at JT Pac it is! This international play by Mercury Theatre Company in U.K, is being staged in Kochi for the first time. And they quite have a good treat for theatre-lovers in the city.
Taking a peep into the lives of people who have been divided by politics, ‘Hard Places’ has something for everyone. The play is directed by Chris White, Produced by Rebecca Gould, Shernaz Patel, Rajit Kapur and Rahul da Cunha. ‘Hard Places’ is scripted by Farhad Sorabjee. The cast includes Nabil Stuart, Jasmina Daniel, Shernaz Patel in the lead roles.

The star cast is something you would definitely want to check out. You will have Rajit Kapur, Shankar Sachdev, Yamini Namjoshi, and Ashwin Mushran in the lead roles. The story revolves around a group of friends who stay in a hotel at the Bombay-Pune highway, and the related incidents that happen.
