Fort Kochi For Dummies

Kochi, since quite a long time has been missing out on some real finicky hangout places! But gone are the days when Cocoa Tree or CCD were the only places where we could sit over a cup of  coffee, or hang out with ya’ pals!! Fort Kochi is now the in-thing, people! Fortkochi has been a hub for the flood of tourists who visit Kochi. The pretty buildings and lovely locale has  added to the splendour. But now, youngsters in the city, when they really need a break, prefer hanging out in Fortkochi! Kashi Art Cafe is nothing new to us. There is hardly anyone in Kochi who hasn’t tried out their Chocolate cake and Cold Coffee (Slurrrrrrppp!! I’am already drooling…. :D ). The art cafe was started around 15 years back by an American lady, and I would suggest this as the first place you should check out the minute you enter Fortkochi! Also, if you are someone who goes for merchandise from the street for clothes, and accessories, do not hesitate to step into the umpteen shops out there. The shopkeepers might try playing smart by charging you a li’l too much, but make sure you tell’em that ‘I’am a Kochiite, so ‘chetta’ don’t mess with me (It helps guys, I tell you)! Dal Roti offers you a wide range of North Indian cuisine, David Hall for a sip of coffee with great ambiance, plus a lot more. So if you still haven’t spent time with your friends out there in Fort Kochi, make sure the weekend is spent there!!

Kashi Art café

Coffee and cake

Coffee and cake

Kashi Art Café deserves a spot in my list, not because of its serene ambience and excellent music or the art that is showcased, the menu is very meager considering the fact that we are centering on food in this article. But Kashi beats most ‘Coffee-shops’ in terms of the coffee they have by miles. They have the best coffee that I have tasted anywhere and it’s a common consensus that people concur with me. The French pressed coffee comes in the press with milk and sugar separately provided for us to mix according to our taste. Their Lemon Iced Teas and Cold Coffee’s are to be savored with their chicken sandwiches. The icing on top of the cake and we are talking about the cake here literally, is their home-made Chocolate cakes doused with their chocolate sauce. Nothing beats having these and just relaxing to music.
Kashi offers what many café’s can’t seem to provide, the best coffee served in the idyllic location of fort Kochi. It is located in Burgher Street near the Delta public School in Fort Kochi.
