Kochi had an unbelievable weekend! With the IPL finals and UEFA Champions league to add to the glee, sports-lovers in the city could not ask for more. Excitement was filled in the air and youngsters flooded in hotels and pubs which had the ‘big screen’.

“The last time we had so much of fun was during the cricket World Cup finals. What a day that was? I had one of the best times with friends. Sad that the IPL got over! Maybe now we can look forward for the West Indies series”, said Nishanth Narayanan, an immigration executive from Kochi. The IPL this time did go on for long. And some cricket-fans also agree to the fact that it was dragging and got boring towards the end. But with the addition of two new teams, Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Pune Warriors, IPL added more fans to its kitty.

“It’s all about money and I’am sure the franchisees would have made more than crores by now. Anyways, what matters to us is entertainment. I would be happy if I get my dose of it every year”, said Nimal Raj, who resides in Kalamassery. Well, for sure it’s all about money. With Chennai Super Kings crowned ‘The King’ again, fans of other teams have lost their hope. But hey, cheer up, this ain’t the end to it. You can wait for the next season for unplugged action and entertainment.

Kochi Tuskers Kerala Video

Finally, Kochi Tuskers was launched in a gala event filled with extravaganza and show! The official launch of the logo and the promotional video was held at Hotel Le Meridian in Kochi. The rally that started off supporting the IPL Kochi team was the perfect start to the evening. And we witnessed the players walking in with splendour and grandeur. When the team owners and players, along with the physiotherapist, coach etc. stood on the podium, the evening marked the start to an era- Kochi Tuskers. To add to the glitz, cine star Jayaram was also present at the event. With our pretty lady Ranjini Haridas doing the MC’ing, the evening marked the official entry of the tuskers to the Indian Premier League. Out if the 27 players, only 20 could make it. But that did not reduce the glamour of the event one bit. The coach of the team along with co-owner Vivek Venugopal, took part in the Q & A session. And the best part was, the crowd was awe struck when the players came to the audience and sat beside them when the video was being shown . It definitely feels good when you sit besides International players like McCullum and VVS Laxman to watch their promotional video! What more can IPL fans ask for a start??!! The tuskers are all set to make Kochi proud with their first match on the 9th of April, and let’s wish them the best of luck, and also let them know that, we are with you! Gooooooooo Tuskeeeeeeeersssssss!!!!!!

Great news people. The owners of the Kochi IPL team Kochi Tuskers Kerala, has promised that the team will remain loyal to Kochi. And what more? They have even requested to move the 2 matches scheduled in Indore back to Kochi! Kochi Tuskers co-owner Davel Shah has said that “We are satisfied with the renovation of the JN Stadium. It is not a one-season affair. We will be here for the coming seasons too”

If things go well Kochi will be the host of all the 7 Kochi home ground matches. Even though things went horribly wrong in the beginning, it looks like the Kochi team is pulling up its socks and setting it right!

The results are in! Say hello to the new Kochi IPL Team. Kochi Tuskers Kerala (no on referred to as just Kochi Tuskers ) is the new name of the team.

We think the name is great. And as for the logo, well anything is better than the initial logo that looked like that of a mosquito coil brand. And even more great news. We have insider information stating that all 7 matches will be played in Kochi. Stay tuned for more information.

It has been reported that the Kochi IPL Team is trying to rope in Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan as brand ambassadors of the Kochi IPL team. Kochi Teal co-owner Mukesh Patel said that they are in talks with the stars to join the team and add some bollywood style glamor to the whole affair. Mixing Bollywood glamor to the IPL teams is no new affair but actually seems like a necessity. Salman Khan had expressed interest in involving with an IPL team while Katrina has promoted Bangalore Royal Challengers in the past.

We had reported a long time back (even before all the other media did) that Kochi’s IPL team owners agreed to change the name. Co-owner Vivek Venugopal has finally announced they are going to drop the name Indi Commandos. The Kochi team’s official website now has a voting functionality that lets you vote for your team name. Your options are

• Titans
• Commandos (Really??)
• Tigers
• Tuskers
• Heroes
• United

You also need to pick a choice between Kochi-team and Kerala-team. We fail to understand how is it a Kerala team when the bid was for KOCHI! One flaw that we see in the voting system is that its not transparent. You are required to enter you details like Name, email address and mobile number. This could just be a stunt to get all your information. (Somehow we don’t have a lot of faith in the Kochi team as of now). Anyways. Something is better than nothing. Mark your votes people. And it does not seem to be a problem if you have a typo in your email address and mobile number.

Great news people. You have been reading all over thew internet and news about how people hated the name Indi Commandos. We have some good news. We heard from the horses mouth that the team name is changing. Our source who is very closly associated with the Kochi IPL team has told us that the feedback from the internet was shown to the team owners. According to our source the feedback taken from the internet needed parental guidance to even look at. This has forced the management to acknowledge the problem and respect the peoples views.

From what we know the new name is going to have the word Kochi or Kerala or Green or God’s Own in it. As long as its not Indi Commandos its good. Kudos to all the people who thrashed Indi Commandos. We did it!

In just hours after the Kochi IPL team name was unveiled they managed to change the name. The Kochi IPL team name is NOT Indi Commandos anymore. It is…. (drum roll)….. INDI COMMANDOS KERALA! Looks like people are loosing their mind trying to fix the situation and get the thousands of disappointed fans over such an anti climax. There is a bus strike tomorrow in light of this news.

And also more on the lame updates. Out of the 7 matches for Kochi 2 have been shifted to Indore. Yaay (sarcastic). The internet is full of hilarious comments about the team.  Check out the official facebook page to see them. In other news, a group has been created on facebook calling for a ‘proper’ name change. Something far different from the commando name. Not surprisingly, this new group has more four times more followers than the official page.

Lets cut right to the chase. Its been announced that Kochi’s IPL team is going to be named Indi Commandos. Kochivibe thinks that the name Indi Commandos is not worth the team. We have people already saying they rather support other teams than Kochi. Details to follow. Till then, lets discuss why the name sucks!

And btw.. Here is the explanation for the logo. The lightning motif stands for a team that moves with speed and sears through the opposition. The Indi Commandos will attack every opportunity on and off the field!!! (LAME!!!!)
