The 29th all-Kerala Nursery Arts Festival, organised by a Kozhikode-based cultural organisation, will be held at Kozhikode Corporation Jubilee Hall on March 6 and 7.In the previous editions, the participants at the fest were mostly from the Malabar region.A 101-member strong reception committee formed recently has acclaimed writer M.T. Vasudevan Nair as one of the chief patrons.
Competition will be held in 15 events over four venues. The talent of children in story telling and action song (both English and Malayalam), poem recitation (English and Malayalam), group song (English and Malayalam), mono-act (English and Malayalam), fancy dress, solo and group dance, and tableau will be tested.The competition assumes significance considering that this would be the first stage for many of them.
Last year, more than 2,300 children from 280 schools participated in the event.Each school could register only a team of two for solo events and a seven-member team for group events.Applications certified by school authorities should reach the organisers by February 25.The contest fee is Rs. 50 for each participant.
Since the competition is restricted to LKG and UKG students under the age of six, certificates proving age should be attached along with the applications.Applications should be sent to the address: Convener, 29th Chitranjali nursery Keralotsavam c/o Matha A.C.
