Kochiites love for cinema might have to take a backseat for a while. Sadly, true. You would have read on the dailies and seen on channels how movie-makers are going through a tough time due to the untimely strike which was least expected at this time of the year. In a land where strikes and hartals ain’t a rare sight, this strike might not ‘raise brows’ for many. But definitely for the youngsters and movie-lovers in the state who crave for a weekend break by watching a movie, this shall come as heartbreaking news.
When movie-makers themselves have admitted that movies from other languages are making money here, our movie-makers have been having a hard time trying to even bring Malayalam movies playing in our theatres. Theatre owners are at strike. Producers who shell out crores are at risk. Their money is at stake. Directors and actors have a tough time postponing the dates and rescheduling them. Well, everyone has their own sad tales to share. But we are equally sad. We are losing out on some good movies this coming week (which will be postponed and released, god knows when!).
Definitely does not look good! But who is to take the blame in this ‘not-me-its-you’ game. Now let us wait and watch to see how the curtain closes to this dramatically acclaimed game of the Cinema Industry. We are, as always, the passive spectators. Aren’t we?
It is obvious from the post why Malayalam movies are lagging behind.Anyone noticed the word “Youngsters” ? If yeah just think of it.Why are Malayalam movies lagging behind or we should ask ourselves,Is there any reasons why we should go for Malayalam movies when our neighbouring city makes movies which are 100x technologically advanced than our movies.Why don’t Malayalam movies show Hi tech things like in Tamil movies or atleast Hindi movies?There is something more important.Item numbers and realistic stories(Hollywood)The audience who watch these movies are teens and it is apparent that they like to see booties shaking.Are there any movies in Malayalam like that?Tech wise..Hotness wise,it sucks…The only song I found a little good was that “Oh January” from Big be…It has something to do with Fort Cochin culture and it fits well.Why don’t Indians accept the fact that people love seeing hot girls or hot boys.It is common sense that our genius directors or whatever understand.Now there will be a bunch of philintines who wanna call me a douche for saying the truth but all my teenager friends will support me.If there is no Hollywood,It is Tamil movie,if there is no Tamil movie,Hindi(atleast see some dance),the last comes Malayalam movies…If some producers see this…Take one Malayalam movie of my kind and promote it well with subtitles..I’m not talking about creepy Bollywood movie style..I’m talking about Hollywood style..Do it and be the best
